On Thursday, 28 April 2016, thirty-four primary level students in the school competed as finalists for the proud title of “Spelling Bee” champion in their category.
This highly successful inaugural event was organized by students in 1o Bachillerato with prizes sponsored byAPACVE. The finalists were drawn from students studying for Cambridge English Young Learners Language Assessment qualifications – Starters, Movers, Flyers, KET and PET. The thrilling, sudden-death competition saw the contestants fighting tooth and nail in each round, as they were challenged to spell from memory toughies like “scissors”, “island”, “geography”, “barbeque”, “prescription”, “refrigerator”, and many more.
Congratulations to this year’s champions, to all the participants, and to the organizers, for their hard work!
Over six hundred euros was raised, enough to cover two-months’ running costs of the school built and run by Fundacion CVE in Nyabibete, Cameroon for the local Baka population.

El jueves 28 de abril de 2016, treinta y cuatro estudiantes de primaria del colegio, compitieron en la final del concurso «Spelling Bee», optando al título de campeón en cada categoría.
Este acontecimiento de gran éxito fue organizado por los estudiantes en 1 o Bachilerato con premios patrocinados por APACVE. Los finalistas fueron seleccionados según su nivel en el Cambridge English Young Learners Language Assessment – Starters, Movers, Flyers, KET y PET. La emoción, y la competitividad hizo a los concursantes luchar con uñas y dientes en cada ronda, enfrentándose al reto de deletrear difíciles palabras como “scissors”, “island”, “geography”, “barbeque”, “prescription”, “refrigerator”, y muchas más.
¡Felicidades a los campeones de este año, a todos los participantes y los organizadores, por su trabajo duro!
Los más de seiscientos euros que se recaudaron serán suficientes para cubrir los gastos de funcionamiento de la escuela construida y apoyada por la Fundación CVE en Nyabibete, Camerún para la población local Baka durante dos meses.
